Many, but thank goodness not all, of our city, county and Arizona state elected officials want to have the F35 based here in Tucson at Davis Monthan Air Force Base. The DM 50, a small group of very wealthy business owners who have a vested interest in bringing this plane here, i.e. they believe they will profit financially – they want to have the F35 based here. Some Tucson citizens who live well outside of the flight path, and do not suffer from these planes, say that these planes flying over is, “the sound of freedom.”
Well, the sound of freedom should not be deafening!
If the F35 is based here, it will fly over, take off and land all day and all night. According to a United States Government study, 8000 Tucson homes will be deemed incompatible for residential use due to unlivable noise levels and the danger of these single engine planes crashing. Home values will decrease dramatically. Our reputation as a resort destination will be ruined.
If you hate the F 35 you don’t hate the military. If you hate the F35 you don’t hate Davis Monthan. If you hate the F35 you don’t hate our veterans. No. If you hate the F35 you just HATE the F35. It is too loud. It is too dangerous. And it should NOT be flying over our city.
Don’t be a bystander. Be an upstander! Stop the F35!
